Creating space for more services and strengthening its role in the local community. For West Ealing Pharmacy in West London, relocating to larger premises was an opportunity to rethink both patient care and the team’s working environment.

The pharmacy works closely with local GP practices and other healthcare partners. Moving across the road gave the team the facilities to expand its services, improve staff facilities and introduce automation as part of a wider move towards a digital pharmacy.

One of the deciding factors in choosing Meditech was the combination of storage methods within a single robot. By bringing together chaotic storage and dedicated channels, the installation accommodates both less frequently dispensed medicines and products in high demand.

Automatic loading has also changed the daily routine. Stock that previously had to be put away manually is now placed on a conveyor and stored automatically. For the pharmacy team, this means less time spent handling stock and more time to focus on patients and services.

The owners also highlight the support received throughout the project, from the initial design and installation to ongoing assistance. Their experience with both the technology and the Meditech team has led them to invest in a second robot, with plans to introduce automation across further branches.
