For a single-site community pharmacy, automating the dispensary function replaces the equivalent of two dispensary assistant roles, generating a recurring annual saving of approximately £60,000. Meditech robots produce fewer than one dispensing error per 10,000 operations. Dispensing errors in pharmacy automation almost never originate in the robot itself. The most common cause is incorrect barcoding on the product packaging. To prevent this, every Meditech robot scans each product on entry and immediately compares the barcode against the expected dimensions held in the database. Any discrepancy triggers an instant alert before the product enters stock, eliminating robot-originated dispensing errors to near zero.

The Meditech Solitaire operates at 43.3 dBA measured at two metres, compared to 60-62 dBA for the previous generation MT.XL. At 43.3 dBA, the Solitaire is quieter than a normal conversation, making it suitable for open dispensary environments where noise affects both staff and patients. The reduction in noise is the result of a new guidance system with integrated gyroscopic stabilisation, which also reduces vibration and extends component life.

Meditech pharmacy robots range from approximately £65,000 for the compact MT.XS to from £160,000 for a fully configured Solitaire. The entry-level MT.XS is designed for small and medium community pharmacies with limited floor space and budget. The Solitaire targets high-volume dispensaries that require maximum speed, capacity and configuration flexibility.

Meditech robots achieve 99% uptime. When a fault does occur, Meditech applies predictive maintenance: sensors monitor component performance continuously and flag potential failures before they cause downtime. One scheduled maintenance visit per year covers the vast majority of service needs, and almost no parts are replaced during that visit. The first year of service is included as standard. All-inclusive service costs are charged at a flat rate regardless of system size. A UK-based service, support and sales team is available 24/7/365. The 5-year full warranty covers all parts and labour. The 15-year minimum end-of-life guarantee ensures every component remains available and identically specified for at least 15 years from the date of last installation.

Meditech pharmacy robots are configured to the available space, not the other way around. The MT.XS starts at 3.75 metres in length and fits in small dispensaries with limited floor space. The Solitaire and MT.XL range from four to fifteen metres in length, with heights between two and 3.5 metres. All models use vertical storage to maximise pack capacity within a compact footprint.
