Wellness Pharmacy

Starting to supply medicines to a care home brought an additional workload to Wellness Pharmacy in Cardiff. For owner Tom Harris, this was the moment to explore how automation could support his team and make everyday tasks more manageable.

After speaking with several suppliers, Tom chose Meditech for the personal approach, guidance and support he received from the outset. Installation was brought forward by eight weeks, allowing the pharmacy to benefit from automation before Christmas. Although five days had been set aside, the installation was completed within the first two.

The benefits extended beyond what Tom had initially expected. The robot accommodated almost all the stock previously held in two separate stockrooms, freeing both rooms to be converted into consultation spaces.

Automatic loading also made a difference to the daily workflow. Tom estimates that the pharmacy saves at least two hours a day on putting stock away, allowing the team to continue dispensing and carrying out other tasks while deliveries are loaded.

Two months after installation, Tom highlights the ongoing support as a key part of his experience. From phone calls and regular check-ins to visits to the pharmacy, the Meditech team has remained available to help.
