Timsbury Pharmacy

Bringing technology into the pharmacy while keeping patient care accessible to everyone. That was the ambition behind the new premises at Timsbury Pharmacy, a longstanding part of the local community between Bath and Bristol.

For owner Sanjeev Pun, whose background is in automotive engineering, choosing an automation partner meant looking closely at efficiency, integrity and honesty. After comparing several suppliers, he selected Meditech to support the pharmacy’s plans for growth and the development of clinical services.

The move required careful coordination. While the team continued serving patients at the existing pharmacy across the road, Meditech worked on the new installation. Sanjeev recalls completing the switchover within an hour, with the robot and patient medication record system operational and the team ready to serve patients in the new premises.

Since then, automation has helped reduce repetitive stock handling tasks. The manual work of arranging medicines on shelves by date and manufacturer has eased, contributing to what Sanjeev describes as improved staff wellbeing and more efficient daily working.

The robot works alongside the pharmacy’s software, giving colleagues greater flexibility to step away from dispensing tasks and support patients. For Timsbury Pharmacy, that time is helping the team build its clinical services while retaining capacity for further growth.
